My love for red and pink……

As you can probably tell by my Instagram feed recently I am having a ‘red and pink’ moment. Like with many things I am sure I will get bored and move onto some other craze but in the meantime my love continues. It is  an odd one because people say that to wear bold colours together or an outfit of all one colour you need to be very self confident. I am actually far from confident but as soon as I reached the ripe old age of forty decided that I will wear what I love. Of course that doesn’t  mean boob tubes and mini skirts, god no how scary would that be?! ..You know what I mean though! Adding just one accessory can completely change an outfit or go for block colours. My personal favourites are red wide leg trousers and a pink sweater or of course the other way around. Recently I wore an all red outfit to an event in London and had so many lovely comments. I feel great in red it really brightens my mood.

A few ways that I have worn pink and red recently….

1   Traffic People Kiss dress

I love this dress because it is fun print and a little different. I will dress it down with a biker and trainers for the summer too but it looks great with red high heel stilettos!

2  Sosandar red suede shoes

Red suede love! With ripped jeans and a big knit now or khaki and a white T shirt

 ASOS wide leg trousers

I bought these trousers a while ago but they are still available. I did have to have them taken up (surprise, surprise) but they fit well and I have worn them so much. Above with a blush coat and breton top as well as with an all red outfit. They look great with black and navy, stripes or pink! I will continue to wear them into the Spring with trainers and a V neck white T shirt

4  Sosandar red leather ankle boots

Honestly the most buttery leather! I have exchanged my Zara boots for these and love them so much. They are nicely fitted around the ankle so will look great with dresses in the Summer too

 Dorothy Perkins blush coat

This coat really is a bargain and is currently in the sale! A lovely shade of blush pink that would look equally great with navy, black and khaki. A great coat to take you into Spring

John Smedley silk and cotton wrap sweater

An investment piece for your Spring wardrobe. This sweater is silk and cotton with a wrap around wide belt. Not too warm so easily wearable for our British summer!

Here are a few of my favourites from the High St. There are so many fantastic things, something for everyone…..

I completely understand that red and pink is not for everyone but because of how happy these colours make me feel it may be worth a try! It is actually quite funny because as I type (for the second time because I lost the whole blog post yesterday) I am looking out of the window at the children and dog playing in the snow. It seems strange to be thinking about Spring and even Summer and I don’t know about you but I am desperate for some warmer weather. We are lucky enough to be off to Marrakesh in March and I am so looking forward to it…

I hope this given you some inspiration or food for thought. I look forward to sharing my next love with you…

Thank you for reading
