I was recently asked to put together my choices from the new SS18 collection at Great Plains What I really love about this 25 year old brand is the combination of both high quality pieces to create a capsule wardrobe and contemporary fashion influenced designs. I guess what I mean is that it is classic with a twist!
With an International online presence they are continuing to grow from strength to strength. I have chosen pieces that I felt would work with clothes that I already have as well as adding something slightly different. The colour palette more often is muted but this season with added yellows and bright rust oranges.
My first choice was this bright red/orange broderie midi dress. As you know if a dress can work with both heels and trainers then it is most definitely a winner for me. Above I have styled it with platform velvet heels but with a denim jacket or biker it would work just as well with trainers
This top is beautiful. A really lovely addition to your summer wardrobe. It has frill style sleeves and is lightweight cotton. I have dressed it up slightly with nude heels and jeans. A casual dinner look for me but again it looks great with shorts, culottes and slides or trainers
These shorts are so flattering! A great cut with a button and zip waistband. You can probably see a broderie theme here but it really wasn’t intentional! I was just drawn to the colour. Something I normally wouldn’t wear despite my love of all things red and pink! I love a white shirt and shorts on holiday and will just swap the heels for slides. A really classic look for me that I love
Now I will be honest I picked this jumpsuit for the style but I wasn’t actually sure on the colour….Described as Pebble it is a linen blend fabric in a almost pale green/grey. I think the colour flatters both lighter and darker skin tones and it also works really very well with white, tan and black. It is tailored with a flattering V neckline and again can be dressed up or down. Trainers or slide during the day with killer heels in your handbag for cocktails later
I hope this quick edit has been useful and maybe will make you consider a brand that you weren’t aware of or haven’t looked at for a while. I really feel that they have something for everyone. The good news is that most of these items are currently on offer too! Very handy!!
