Pink to make the boys wink!

Hello! Happy New Year!

My first blog post of the year… I have lots of ideas and am currently working on a Travel post after our recent trip to Thailand. I had such a lovely response after I did a write up on Marrakesh I will now make it a regular thing. I think the hardest thing for me are the photograph’s. While we were away at Christmas I actually made a conscious effort not to involve the family in my little Part time role that is the blog and Instagram! We just needed that family time without chasing pictures!  I would really love to mix things up and keep things interesting so you may see some random blogs from time to time on here!

I have been thinking a lot recently about my Instagram profile and what it all really means! You all know what an over analyser I am!  I look at the perfectly collated brown tinted feeds and think that will never be me! Not because I couldn’t create such images but I don’t want to and more importantly don’t have the time or patience! I’ve always tried to stay true to myself and my style and I am a lover of both neutrals, all black and love lots of colour in my life. I also get bored rather easily and can be rather scatty. I never often plan what I am wearing and certainly don’t dress for the grid!

I was recently gifted this gorgeous Bubblegum pink silk blouse by MeandEm

It really got me thinking about colour. Pink is back again this Spring with varying shades from Bubblegum to hot pink and more subtle pale and dusky pinks. Pink knitwear, silks, sequins and pink accessories will see us into Summer. I thought I would have a look across all price points and styles at different ways we could add a pop of pink to our wardrobes. A few of my favourites are below:

The MeandEm blouse featured above. It is the most beautiful Bubblegum silk with pleats and cuff details. I have styled it with black leather trousers and heels but it obviously can easily be dresses down with track trousers and trainers or jeans and a big cardie. I would say that this is an investment piece. More higher end but the most beautiful quality like all of  the MeandEm collection

I noticed Holly Willoughby wearing this Mango Midi dress on This Morning today! This really is my style, I am actually loving lots of the new collection and I think this dress is a great option for taking you into Spring. I am not sure that white boots are going anywhere soon and it really looks fab with them

Pink knitwear again from Mango  Love the waffle knit. An easy way to add a pop of colour that I think pretty much everyone can wear

Two more sporty options at different price points. I love and would wear both. Dress up slightly with a blazer or down with jeans and trainers

& Other Stories have various pops of pink in their new Spring Collections. A pink breton and knit were my choices as good staples for your wardrobe. Most people own a navy or red breton but just add pink if you want to keep that classic look but with pink!

Bag of dreams from Net A Porter by the designer Loewe I have been dreaming about the tan version of this bag! Yes I am shallow but I just love the design! I  would never go crazy and buy a designer bag in pink because I prefer classic’s that I can pass on to Alice but if I won the Lottery…just maybe!

This River Island blouse is a more affordable version of the silk blouse featured above. I like the pretty ruffle and bow at the front

I think Marks and Spencer always come up trumps with key on trend pieces. I have been fortunate enough to work with them and tomorrow will be  (if I am better)  attending their SS19 Press day. It will be interesting to see how much colour including pink is in the new collection. I found these affordable wide leg trousers. I thought they were a good colour and could be worn in so many ways.

Another MeandEm goodie! Love this subtle pink stripe. Great if you would like to just add a touch of pink

I may have gone slightly off piste here with this blazer… I know it doesn’t really shout full on Barbie or bubblegum pink but I love love it!

Now this an actual look I will not be rocking! I actually mean the cycling shorts. I think the kids would actually disown me! I love this Mango sweatshirt and would wear it with a black blazer, leather peg trousers, black trackies of obviously jeans

Another gem from the collection. This oversized soft shirt. Just a classic in a beautiful pale pink..

This Finery London dress received so much love when I posted it on Instagram. You know my love of red and pink so it was an obvious choice for me. I love working with this brand. Their new collection is full of colour so I had to include this fab dress in the blog

Zara Blush pink coat Well it wouldn’t be a Fashion blog post without a few choices from here!

Zara sweatshirt

Soft feel sweater

Finally…if you are still with me! Another more casual option from Whistles

I hope that has given you some ideas or inspiration on how to add some pink to your wardrobe. I know its not for everyone and like any trend it can be rather nice not to go ‘full on’ I am now off to buy some Day and Night nurse! Living the dream here and praying this flu will move along rather sharpish!

Thank you for reading

Jane
