My summer edit with Great Plains

I was recently asked to put together my choices from the new SS18 collection at Great Plains What I really love about this 25 year old brand is the combination of both high quality pieces to create a capsule wardrobe and contemporary fashion influenced designs. I guess what I mean is that it is classic with a twist! With an International online presence they are continuing to grow from strength to strength. I have chosen pieces that I felt would work with clothes that I already have as well as adding something slightly different. The colour palette more often is muted but this season with added yellows and bright rust oranges.     Betsy Broderie Midi Dress   My first choice was this bright red/orange broderie…

Something to get me back to the gym…….

Something to get me back to the gym…….

For years I have exercised at least three times a week. It became my routine while I was working in a stressful job to go either to a class or the gym before or after work. Over the years I have purchased and worn many different variations of gym and active wear so when I approached by a brand I had never heard of I was curious. I have to admit that I am that person that has absolutely no problem at all when it comes to wearing my gym wear out in public! I will happily stroll around Sainsburys looking at lettuce or meet a friend for coffee! To me it is now acceptable especially with such amazingly flattering styles out there for us… View Post

You only have to think about one thing!….

Hello! Happy sunny Friday!….My love of jumpsuits grows and grows so I thought I would quickly share a few that I have spotted on the High Street. I have really just looked at more casual jumpsuits. You know my love for trainers and I think we can all appreciate how great it is that there are so many dresses and jumpsuits that can be easily worn with a variety of sneakers! Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love heels and being rather vertically challenged I wear them a lot! It’s just the running about to London and mum duties when I need those comfy sneaks! For me the perfect jumpsuit is something that can be dressed up or down.  All you need to think about… View Post

One of our favourite places…

So I am finally sitting down with a glass of rose to write about our stay in Marrakesh. I remember last year I had intended to write about our trip but the school easter holidays always fall straight afterwards so its not as easy to find the time  to sit and write. I’m not trying to be a ‘Travel Blogger’ I will leave that to the experts but it is a place I love and I thought it might be nice to put a few thoughts on the blog. Jamie and I always try to get away for a few days on our own around my birthday at the end of March. We have managed to do this pretty much every year for… View Post
Pixi Beauty…My thoughts

Pixi Beauty…My thoughts

Back in February I was invited to an event held  at Fenwick hosted by Pixi Beauty’s Global Director of Make up Amanda Bell. I of course  had heard of Pixi but had never actually tried any of their skincare or make up. Pixi was set up 10 years ago by Petra Strand who has over 20 years experience as a make up artist and product developer. The brand is vegan friendly and is not tested on animals.. Pixi have two extensive ranges. Skintreats and the Make up range. I have been trying some key products from both. I am always really very careful with what I use on my skin. I had eczema as a child that will sometimes flare up and now that I am… View Post

Bringing out the Cowgirl within!…

After last week’s snow and with a tiny hint of Spring in the air this week I am going full on Spring/Summer wardrobe planning…!! No not really…. unfortunately I am not that organised! I am however thinking dresses and ankle boots. A look I love and always embrace every year. I adore my Chloe Susanna boots that my husband bought me for Christmas but I am also a huge fan of  the Western style. Yesterday I found some flared jeans at the back of my ridiculously untidy wardrobe and wore them with my new Sosander boots. I even braved a teeny tiny bit of leg exposure!  I loved this outfit and it actually prompted me to write this little post.         Black… View Post
My love for red and pink……

My love for red and pink……

As you can probably tell by my Instagram feed recently I am having a ‘red and pink’ moment. Like with many things I am sure I will get bored and move onto some other craze but in the meantime my love continues. It is  an odd one because people say that to wear bold colours together or an outfit of all one colour you need to be very self confident. I am actually far from confident but as soon as I reached the ripe old age of forty decided that I will wear what I love. Of course that doesn’t  mean boob tubes and mini skirts, god no how scary would that be?! ..You know what I mean though! Adding just one accessory can completely… View Post
HANSINE…..dreaming of sunny days

HANSINE…..dreaming of sunny days

Back in December I was invited to afternoon tea and a preview of the new collection by Hansine at the Dover Street Townhouse in Soho. Dresses and cake what more could I possibly want?!!… I guess it did actually feel quite odd looking at resort wear when it was freezing outside but as you know I am a summer girl at heart and resortwear is my absolute favourite thing. I’m not sure why but I always seem to have so many more summer clothes and love to invest in key pieces that I bring out every holiday. As half term is coming up (far too quickly for my liking) I thought it was a good time to let you know about this fabulous… View Post
AN EVENING WITH TRINNY LONDON

AN EVENING WITH TRINNY LONDON

Hello…. Happy New Year! Let’s hope its a really amazing year for everyone that brings health, happiness, love, fun, success and general well being. On to my first blog post for 2018. I have lots of ideas for this year which will include a complete change to my website. I am really excited but know I have a lot of work to do. Watch this little space….! I thought I would start the year with a little write up on my evening with Trinny London. I am certainly not a beauty blogger and would never pretend to be. I just wanted to give an overview of the products, what I have tried and my thoughts… Last week along with some very stylish ladies I attended… View Post
Young Teen Girls – Gift Ideas….

Young Teen Girls – Gift Ideas….

I have been asked a few times now to do a blog post with some ideas for girls. I have to say that I am really struggling this year with what to buy Alice. Maybe it is slightly easier with older teen girls, I’m not sure…I think it doesn’t help that I am not remotely organised and keep telling myself that I have bags of time! At just 13 Alice has recently become extremely specific about what she likes and doesn’t like. She attends a girls school which is really quite old fashioned (they measure the older girls skirts to check the length!) so she really isn’t into make up, nails, dresses or anything too girly! She loves clothes, bags and shoes (no idea where… View Post
