My summer edit with Great Plains

I was recently asked to put together my choices from the new SS18 collection at Great Plains What I really love about this 25 year old brand is the combination of both high quality pieces to create a capsule wardrobe and contemporary fashion influenced designs. I guess what I mean is that it is classic with a twist! With an International online presence they are continuing to grow from strength to strength. I have chosen pieces that I felt would work with clothes that I already have as well as adding something slightly different. The colour palette more often is muted but this season with added yellows and bright rust oranges.     Betsy Broderie Midi Dress   My first choice was this bright red/orange broderie…

Something to get me back to the gym…….

Something to get me back to the gym…….

For years I have exercised at least three times a week. It became my routine while I was working in a stressful job to go either to a class or the gym before or after work. Over the years I have purchased and worn many different variations of gym and active wear so when I approached by a brand I had never heard of I was curious. I have to admit that I am that person that has absolutely no problem at all when it comes to wearing my gym wear out in public! I will happily stroll around Sainsburys looking at lettuce or meet a friend for coffee! To me it is now acceptable especially with such amazingly flattering styles out there for us… View Post

One of our favourite places…

So I am finally sitting down with a glass of rose to write about our stay in Marrakesh. I remember last year I had intended to write about our trip but the school easter holidays always fall straight afterwards so its not as easy to find the time  to sit and write. I’m not trying to be a ‘Travel Blogger’ I will leave that to the experts but it is a place I love and I thought it might be nice to put a few thoughts on the blog. Jamie and I always try to get away for a few days on our own around my birthday at the end of March. We have managed to do this pretty much every year for… View Post
My love for red and pink……

My love for red and pink……

As you can probably tell by my Instagram feed recently I am having a ‘red and pink’ moment. Like with many things I am sure I will get bored and move onto some other craze but in the meantime my love continues. It is  an odd one because people say that to wear bold colours together or an outfit of all one colour you need to be very self confident. I am actually far from confident but as soon as I reached the ripe old age of forty decided that I will wear what I love. Of course that doesn’t  mean boob tubes and mini skirts, god no how scary would that be?! ..You know what I mean though! Adding just one accessory can completely… View Post
A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SPARKLE ….

A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SPARKLE ….

It is that time of year when we dig out the trusty little black dress, add some sequins to our wardrobe and maybe become slightly more adventurous with our outfits.  Party season is upon us and if you are anything like me you will be having trouble deciding what to wear for each occasion. Not everybody loves full on sequins and there is so much choice both on the High St and online it can becoming slightly overwhelming. I have put together an edit of a few of my favourites pieces. I have to say it was very difficult making the selection as I love so much from the High street as well as top end investment pieces! Stay away from the handbags Jane!  … View Post
My TOP SHOP EDIT…

My TOP SHOP EDIT…

I literally have been inundated with Black Friday deals and emails. I love shopping but I’m not sure why this always makes me feel slightly stressed and panicky. Maybe its the ‘FOMO” fear of missing out thing or just when you are not organised with a list of presents to buy, looking for something very specific or have hours to sit at your computer!…It can drive you nuts! So I decided to keep things simple and do a quick edit of my current favourite pieces at Topshop     This is one of my favourites. I would wear with a tuxedo suit or black trousers, heels and a biker jacket. Absolutely love….     Classic, a jumpsuit is always a winner and very easy to… View Post

My Whistles edit – 20% until Monday!

Yesterday I was accidentally diverted into my local Whistles after receiving their 20% email. The offer is valid until midnight on Monday but I know popular items will sell out quickly. I thought I would do a quick edit of my favourites as I have shopped at Whistles for a very long time mainly buying classic pieces or investing in outerwear View Post
SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT…..

SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT…..

Our plans for a day out have changed due the totally rubbish weather. I can’t believe that I am sitting here in cashmere (holy) socks and a rather large woolly cardigan rocking ‘granny chic’… I thought I would write a quick post on a new and exciting T Shirt brand that has been launched by two of my lovely friends. As I’ve said previously I really want to feature as many new independent companies on the blog as I can but obviously only products that I love or would actually purchase myself. Slogan/graphic Tees are still so very popular and can really jazz up our ‘rushing about after the kids’ mum outfits. I wear mine with jeans, tailored or wide leg trousers but also love… View Post
