Hello, how are we all? The sun is still shining here and I feel like I am on a bit of a blogging roll! Lots of exciting ideas coming up to share with you……Can I mention Autumn Fashion?? I normally ease into the new season rather slowly. I think really because I am careful with what I buy nowadays and don’t want to peak too soon with the latest thing! A few days after returning from our holiday and still very much in Summer mode Alice and I had a mooch around London at the new AW18 offerings… One thing I have always loved wearing is a suit. Maybe from my days as a Headhunter in the City where especially during the 90’s suits were the thing (along with a brick phone) I used to buy mine from Karen Millen with fab shoulder pads! Very Dynasty you know!! My current way to wear a suit is actually more casually with trainers, a simple white T-shirt or blouse and a polo neck or cashmere knit as it gets colder. Suits are obviously versatile as any coordinates are giving us the opportunity to mix things up by wearing seperately with a fab pair of jeans, leather skirt or killer heels! I always save my favourite finds so I thought I would share them with you…
Above are two ways that I would style a suit. Just easy outfits that instantly make me feel put together!

I very much think this is a love or hate suit! I love it but will be very carefull how I style it. I was recently gifted this suit as part of a new collaboration with Marks and Spencer It is a really lovely cut with tapered trousers that would look great with a chunky knit, sweatshirt, trainers or high boots
Boden blush pink cord. I absolutely love Blush pink. I think it works with all the Autumn neutrals as well as black. It looks great with burgundy, tan, cream and black. Boden is fabulous quality so this would definitely be an investment piece taht is also work approriate
I am not sure if you remember the Baukjen checked suit that was all over Instagram…well this is a more affordable version (I love and work with Baukjen but it is not longer available) from New Look. Again checks are not for some people but I had to show you as I think this is a fab price!
I couldn’t possibly have not included some fabulous finds from H&M I really think they have changed a lot recently and the quality of clothing has really improved. It is very much somewhere I would go for ‘fast fashion’ but their current cords, suits and dresses I love! This is one of my absolute fav0urites and these trousers fit so well!
Mango will always produce fab coordinates too. Burgandy is one colour that my husband hates on me. I am not sure why but I think this suit looks lovely with pink, turquoise, khaki and black. Again dress up or down.
Stradivarius provide affordable fashion but I realise are possibly aimed at the slightly younger market. This suit caught my eye because it was a slightly more tan colour to the usual rust that is everywhere. Just added it as another option for a casual and affordable look
Well it wouldn’t be a fashion blog post without Zara would it! I adore both these suits. The rich dark rust colour is another favourite of mine and I would struggle to choose between them. How many corduroy suits does a girl need?!
The & Other Stories suit that started it all! I tried this on and fell in love! A lady in the next changing room was trying on the Blush pink which is equally as lovely. Fab quality and cut and as you can see here (ignore my silly selfie face) it works well with my trusted Veja trainers! Love, love, love!
Well I hope this little post has given you a few ideas into how a suit could work for you this season. I will most definitely be investing in a suit, most probably in corduroy. I think the days of the Science teacher reference are over!
Thank you for reading!
Love
Jane
