Lockdown life!

Hello…. It has been a while. Where shall I begin?…

Everything seems so very surreal at the moment and I have to admit I have woken up a few mornings wondering if this all a dream. Like everyone we have our good and bad days here. Jamie has been working from home for about six weeks now and tends to use the whole house as his office! Very much someone that walks around whilst on the phone… It has been so lovely having him here. The kids love his cooking (far far better than me) and he does help around the house most days.. The children as you know are teenagers so things are very different on the home schooling front. Charlie was due to take his A Levels and then go travelling before University. Like so many things that is now all up in the air. Alice is very self disciplined so has been at school online and really I just need to make sure she up and fed in the morning! I have loved that the four of us have enjoyed meals together. Life is so busy and most weeks we only ate together once a week.

I have been trying to keep busy and most definitely have found my love for exercise again. Alice is my new gym partner! I have days when I live in gym wear and others when I get up dressed, put on make up and a fancy dress!. I don’t think there is any correct way and I think that comparing yourself to others is the absolute worse thing during this time. I recently had a day where I felt ridiculously inadequate, teary and emotional.  I’m not baking, crafting, teaching my children, decorating, doing a styling video,  shopping  and so much more… It is important to quickly snap yourself out of this mindset and see that every little thing that you are doing is important, what you have is so much and everything you do is worthwhile

So lets get back to Fashion..

Well I’ll be honest and say it has varied. My lockdown looks have been mainly been swimwear, gym wear, comfies and the odd pretty dress. We have been so so lucky with the weather that I have also lived in my 20 year old cut off denim shorts!

As you know I have recently collaborated with Sweaty Betty

Here are a few pieces that I have been living in over the past few weeks:

Swimsuit is from Les Girls Les Boys

So if we aren’t working out or lying with a cold glass of rose while hubby mows the lawn what do we wear? As I said I vary between “I want to look glam” and “I want to feel comfy but stylish!” Here are a few things I have worn, love or have bought recently…

A simple, comfortable jersey dress with denim. Easy and makes you feel slightly more dressed up when you aren’t really! Mine is old but I have linked similar below…

Update your denim with a puff sleeve!

A few other affordable basics ….

Over the next week or so I plan to show you some fab beauty products I have been trying as well as showcase some fabulous new or independent brands. Now more than ever we need to support our local businesses. I love where I live for the unique shops we have in our High Street

Stay safe and well and thank you for reading
